Re: Sauropoda Necks



Well, happy new year everyone. Great to see that sauropods can still >hold their own on the DinoList against the theropods. It seems the ornithischians, especially stegosaurs, get short shrift here, so I >always feel sorry for 'em. =)


I think sauropods are cool too. But unless they are seriously into anatomy in
more then layman's terms, the public is going to tend towards animals that
they view as "exciting", and thus theropods, the fast running,
claw-slashing, flesh rending animals tend to get the attention. A pity
though, as most people just look into the stegosaurs or ornithischians
nothing more then being thier prey. It seems to me more of a public
relations matter. A real pity. Looking seriously into the nuances of such
dinosaurs may in turn, open up more ideas about their predators and
environment.
