Certainly the hesperornithids did well as piscivores in an enviroment where 
mosasauroids were also filling the piscivore niche/s, and hesperornithids 
were "dinosaurs." Of course, we can't say whether or not hesperornithids were 
completely independent of a terrestrial existence (though that seems 
unlikely).
