Re: Possible Tyrannosaurid nesting behaviour
Gunter and Ralph's responses were excellent, so I will only note one
thing. In my opinion, Tyrannosaurid eggs will not be of ornithoid
type---even if Sereno is correct (that tyrannosaurs are maniraptoriforms),
their eggs would probably be of a more primitive-to-transitional type. And
if tyrannosaurs are more primitive coelurosaurs (which seems more likely),
their eggs will probably be quite unlike the ornithoid types.
Has anyone noticed if any of Gerald Grellet-Tinner's papers on dinosaur
eggs were published during 2001? I'm looking forward to those with great
anticipation.
