A ratite bibliographical query
In 1991, a J. Noble published "On ratites and their
interactions with plants", Revista Chilena de Historia
Natural 64(1):85-118. I have unable to access this
journal. If anyone has this journal available, I am
most interested in learning the complete name of the
author, having only an abstract of the paper.
In light of the probable omnivory of some theropods,
it is interesting to consider that the flightless
Casuarius casuarius (with the casque on the head)is
the second largest living theopod (and the only living
avian theropod with armour protection), weighing up to
83kg, and standing nearly 2m (6.5 feet), and eats
fruit and dead animals. Its middle pedal digit has a
120 mm (5 inch), spike-like ungual with which it can
render a devastating blow to curious human tourists.
