Deinocheirosauria

In 1976, Barsbold (ref below) described a narrow group of theropods as the
Deinocheirosauria, and included *Deinocheirus mirificus* and
*Therizinosaurus cheloniformis*. The diagnosis was based on the elongate
forelimbs and claws. Present analysis now indicates that the former is an
ornithomimosaur and the latter is the inclusive anchor for the
Therizinosauroidea and a member of the Segnosauria. In subsequent
analysis, a segnosaur (= therizinosauroid) + ornithomimosaur relationship
has been conceived, though unnamed. Predominantly, Sereno in 1998--2000
[_Annual Review of Earth Sciences_, _Science_, and _JVP_ 20] has proposed
this group, though ambiguously supported (probably as a result of the
maniraptoran characters of the segnosaurs). Thus, one might want to
_warily_ find a means of utilizing Barsbold's name, though probably of
questionable use and I would warn it's only a potential connection.

The definition, of course, would incorporate the spirit of Barsbold's
use, thus = {*Deinocheirus* + *Therizinosaurus*}.

Little steps are often the hardest to take. We are too used to making leaps
in the face of adversity, that a simple skip is so hard to do. We should all
learn to walk soft, walk small, see the world around us rather than zoom by it.
