Impression on large theropod scales ?

Now I know this is a very bad source, but I doubt they pulled the whole thing
out of their hats ;

<< "In a number of
the big meat-eating dinosaurs there is now evidence of some sort of structures
other than
scales," said Australian Museum palaeo-bird expert Professor Walter Boles.
"There are some
with definite feathers. "We are presenting the speculative idea that some of
the large
carnivores had feathers of some sort. What they used them for - because
obviously they were
not flying - remains a mystery. "It could have been they used them for thermal
regulation or
for display." Now confirmed as a southern hemisphere species, scientists say
there is also
circumstantial evidence - such as massive footprints - that giganotosaurus was
indeed in
Australia. This contradicts the notion that the largest and deadliest of beasts
were confined
solely to the northern hemisphere. "There is circumstantial evidence that
Australia played
host to the largest ever meat-eating dinosaurs on Earth," said Prof Boles. "This
giganotosaurus is a southern hemisphere dinosaur, which suggests it was
probably here.
"There have also been some large therapod [two-legged carnivores] prints found
which
would fit this sort of sized dinosaur.>>

Now, um ... A little Elaboration ? Is there something else comfirming this ? Or
is it
made up crap or whatever. I really never heard of this before ...
Anyone helping is largely appreciated.
