Will "Alvarezsauria" and "enigmosauria" survive scrutiny.
Time will tell.
:-)
I think they will. I would like to know why Alvarezsauria is in quotes. It
was published. I can understand the placement of "Enigmosauria" in quotes,
but not really.
I'm curious on how you place the "enigmosaurs" and "alvarezsaurs", since you
think that they are paraphyletic. Please contact me off-list.
BTW, while I was in WV for spring break, I was digging on the side of a bank
and uncovered the fossils of a strange bird. It possesses long, straight,
conical pedal claws with very flat and enlarged proximodorsoventral lips.
Otherwise it seems to resemble the rails. I'm thinking about calling it
"Snipeornis acunykus". ;-)
