Re: William "Strata" Smith live on the radio...
Dr. Holtz,
@#$$!!
I checked my email after 12 noon today! Of course, I live in Lancaster, PA
and probably would not receive it on my radio anyway.
I am reading it right now, and will review it for Mike Taylor's DinoFAQ
book page. I really wanted to hear that. Maybe, Mr. Winchester will show up
on another show. The last time I noticed the book was still on the NY Times
best seller list.
BTW, Mike Taylor's DinoFAQ book page is an on going project. If anyone is
reading a dinosaur book for the non-specialist or laymen, send a review to
Mike Taylor. Preview of review: it is a very good book!!
Thanks,
Jim Hower

Subject: William "Strata" Smith live on the radio...
| Okay, maybe not Smith himself. However, Simon Winchester, author of the
| recent book "The Map That Changed the World" (which discusses the work of
| "Strata" Smith, the development of the first geologic map, and the effect
| that research had on our understanding of geology and geologic time) will
be
| the featured speaker on the Diane Rehm Show at 11 am EDT today (in the
D.C.
| area on WAMU 88.5 FM; check your local listings).
|
| I don't think that it's very often that a geological biography is the
| featured item on a talk show!
