COLUBRIFER PAPER & _Pterodromoides_
More new stuff just in...
Evans, S. E. 2001. The Early Triassic 'lizard' _Colubrifer campi_: a
reassessment. _Palaeontology_ 44, 1033-1041.
This is the write-up of Evans' previously mentioned work (presented at
SVPCA 2000): _Colubrifer_ is not a squamate nor even a diapsid - it's
a procolophonoid and probably referable to _Owenetta_.
Segui, B., Quintana, J., Fornos, J. J. & Alcover, J. A. 2001. A new
fulmarine petrel (Aves: Procellariiformes) from the Upper Miocene of
the western Mediterranean. _Palaeontology_ 44, 933-948.
Description of the new _Pterodroma_-like taxon (gen et sp)
_Pterodromoides minoricensis_. Nice description and some discussion
of the importance of the Mediterrenean to seabird evolution. Stuff in
the same issue on choeropotamids and on Miocene rodents and
insectivores from Afganistan.
