FAQs on Priority of Names

There's no stopping me now -- I just don't learn, do I? :-) In a
burst of enthusiasm, I have written two more (much shorter and
simpler) FAQs:

Why is ``Brontosaurus'' now called _Apatosaurus_?
        and
So why hasn't _Tyrannosaurus_ been renamed Manospondylus?
http://www.miketaylor.org.uk/dino/faq/s-class/priority/index.html

As always, I welcome feedback -- particularly clarification on this
point: According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica (1997, 2:547), ``in
1974 the name Brontosaurus was formally discarded''. Really? By
whom? Why? Wasn't it already formally invalid?

Thanks as always,

)_v__/\ "The cladistic defintion of Aves is: an unimportant offshoot
of the much cooler dinosaur family which somehow managed to
survive the K/T boundry intact" -- Eric Lurio.

P.S. I hope someone out there is actually finding the FAQ useful.
I'm living for the day when someone pops up on the list, asks a
question, and is told ``Go read the FAQ'' :-)
