  Unlike fish, *Spinosaurus* is a tetrapod and in maturity, the
neurocentral sutures actually fused. The lack of them is not a
new adaptation for the spreading of a "sail" as it infers no
flexibility. The very contacts for the vertebrae (see previous
posts by George and I) are a distinct, rugose and patterned
contact between elements that does not occur when the neural
arch has independant mobility than the centrum does.
