Re: Speculative dino species

If thickly feathered therizinosaurs and other thickly
feathered species are proposed to radiate during cool
periods (or due to other factors) it might be plausible to
find some species of large theropods with very long,
fang-like teeth specialized to eat them. In short, they
would possess a very large version of the structures found
in some aboreal boid snakes that eat large numbers of birds
(examples: genus Corallus, and genus Morelia). These
snakes have a dentition characterized by a set of
very long and relatively straight teeth, which punch
through the feathers of avian prey, and allow them to keep
a hold.
