Re: Speculative dino species
Hi ho!
I used to do heaps of speculative sketching in the past...not so much on a
"what if the dinosaurs survived the KT" premise" but more a depiction of
faunas from geographical/chronostratigraphic settings absent/poorly
represented in the fossil record (ie. Maastrichtian Australia/Antarctica).
Also toyed a bit with remote insular faunas (thus inventing giant
alvarezsaurids long before Rapator was identified as such).
Will take a while to dig them up but I would glady contribute these!
Hey...Australia has that annoying habit of preserving animals that should
vanished long before so they could just as easily be post K-T!
By sheer coincidence, at present I am working on a hypothetical
Maastrichtian island dinosaur fauna for a potential film project (set in
the Gulf of Mexico - close to ground zero) involving a mixture of
dwarfed/oversized North and South American lineages.
Cheerio
