Subject: Re: Correcting a mistake
Yo,
About a week ago, or so, I mentioned that elephants cannot stay lying down
because their weight might cause their tissue to go necrotic. A few days
ago, I was watching a show on the Discovery channel in which elephants were
clearly depicted as laying down and sleeping the night away. It appears
that no one told the elephants what I said, so they were ignorant of the
risk to their tissues. I seems that, instead, I have to admit to being
mistaken. Oh well.
End correction,
Demetrios Vital
Last year I was at the San Diego Zoo and watched an elephant lay on it’s
side and stick its trunk trough a small fence and grab some grass. It didn’t
have any problem doing this for at least 5 minutes. It was very interesting to
watch.
