In Feduccia's 1996 book (which excludes tinamous from ratites, but unites
both as Palaeognathae, as usual) 9 genera and 47 species are mentioned on p.
270. The 57 species that an encyclopedia of mine mentions are likely to be a
typo.

:-] Still perplex about why I forgot the correct symbol for the Triassic...
