Well, the movie was fun if you completely suspend your disbelief -- which,
come to think of it, is required for most movies! =)
I'm afraid that though this may be true, JPIII did not suspend my disbelief
or entertain me. The poorest of the series by far, in every way IMHO:
script, editing, look, even the dinosaurs which I actually found the least
convincing of those in any of the movies. They just didn't have me
believing in them (particularly the ridiculous pterosaurs). Not to mention
the criminal underuse of Laura Dern....
I love that 'raptors are more intelligent and sophisticated than dolphins,
whales, and chimpanzees. Take that, Jacques Cousteau! Take that, Jane
Goodall! =)
Well, they're certainly more intelligent than the screenwriters for this
one...
You have to love that Pteranodon is a viscious, man-eating killer --
what's funnier is when you realize that Pteranodon was probably a
fish-eater. Sort of like having the attack of the killer pelicans. =)
Well, they seemed solid rather than viscous (!) but that is about the one
good thing I could say for them. Too big, too ungainly, toothed, grasping
feet (!!!), you name it. I though they were going to be the silliest thing
in the movie until we got to the talking raptors and their egg hunt.
I guess the thing to remember is, JP III is entertainment only.
Not, alas, in my case!
