Adult animals are very tough. I think the weak point is the reproductive
process. Look at modern frog extinction: it is not the adults that are
dying, it is their inability to reproduce that is causing their numbers to
diminish. I think the reproduction process is the key to figuring out why
certain groups became extinct.
