Re: Jurassic Park III...

Greetings all,(spoilers ahead-you have been warned...)
I just got back from seeing Jurassic Park 3. This is a delightfully
entertaining movie that succeeds in spite of its flaws. The fact that it's
able to make you think after all the excitement is what made it work for me.
I spent time pondering how much the science of paleontology needs funding. It
occured to me how many specimens are out in the field just eroding away.
Knowledge lost forever for lack of a few(well, several thousand)dollars. It's
tragic. I was really impressed with the overall color schemes given to the
different species and even individuals. The dinosaurs are thankfully not
gaudilly colored, but they sport bold patterns. The raptors really blend in
to the jungle background. Finally, we get to see a raptor use it's toe claw!
One thing that doesn't make much sense is the sheer determination of the
Spinosaurus to track down and eat these people. After trying and failing for
a third time, you'd think he'd concentrate his efforts on larger prey. As I
understand it,  large predators don't waste too much time tracking down small
game. Perhaps the films biggest flaw is the removal of T.rex vs Spinosaurus
round two. The original ending had the Tyrannosaur attacking Spino on the
beach and scoring a victory. It would've been a perfect ending to a movie
that really needed it. Anyway, just some random thoughts I thought I'd share.
I hope you all end up enjoying it as much as I did.
