I just love these names.

Sanskrit words in English, you get CHITT-i-putt-ee.
pronouncing the final short "i" as "ih" sounds a bit odd

actually making the last i of pati long would be inappropriate in sanskrit as it is common feminization device in Sansk. Though in the case of pati the formal feminine is patni. Also the putt may be pronounced like the T in 'put' by English speakers. In sanskrit it is more like a dental t rather than a cerebral T. For those who read Sansk. this a very easy word to pronounce.
