Is the ridge (which is more appropriate in the description of
_Monolophosaurus) actually formed from different bones?

The ridge in _Monolophosaurus_ is formed, if I remember correctly, mainly
from the nasals, buttressed at the sides by the lacrimals, and extending
forward onto the premaxillae (in at least this last respect, it differs from
_"D." sinensis_).

The suture between the left and right halves of the ridge in the type of
_Monolophosaurus_ is very obvious and somewhat irregular.  It would not
surprise me in the least to learn that the single ridge in _Monolophosaurus_
had arisen (either ontogenetically of phylogenetically) from two separate
crests.
