Yes I believe the unit in question is the Bulldog Shale, a typical quiet
water, below stormwave base, offshore marine deposit, except that it has
occasional giant erratics. Even if there were no icecaps it is quite
feasible that a few high mountains (probably in Eastern Australia - but
I'm guessing)  could have had little glaciers that
shed a few icebergs when they reached the sea.  I don't know if any
stable isotope work has been done to estimate the seawater temperature
at the time. The unit is so deeply weathered that it may be impossible
to retrieve any original carbonate at all.
