Subject: Pygostyles in Oviraptorosauria

If I remeber correctly actually there is no Oviraptor specimen found with a
pygostyles, I think that the Oviraptorosaurs that you are interesting on is
Nomingia gobiensis, which comes from the Late Cretaceous strata at Bugeen
Tsav, Trans-Altai (Nemegt Formation - ?upper Campanian and ?lower
Maastrichatina (Gradzinski et al. 1997) - ?mid Maastrichtian (Jerzykiewicz &
Russell 1991)) Gobi, Mongolia. The HoloType (GIN 100/119) consist of an
incomplete postcranial skeleton that including a continuous series of
vertebrae comprising 13 presacrals, 5 synsacrals, 24 caudals plus most
chevrons, the complete pelvis, 10 fragmentary ribs, several gastralia, the
left femur and both tibiae and fibulae. Nomingia gobiens is assigned to
Oviraptorosaurs by the following characters: pneumatized caudal vertebrae,
posteriorly concave ischium and deep cervicodordal hypapophysis.
