New Kansas Moasasaur

All,
Just a short note to announce two new mosasaur pages at Oceans of Kansas 
Paleontology.  One reviewer referred to them as "Beauty and the Beast"

In this case, the "Beast" is an ugly Pierre Shale fossil (invaded by 
selenite) which happens to be the first Kansas record of the mosasaur 
_Plioplatecarpus_.  The specimen consists of major elements of the skull 
(a complete muzzle but no quadrates), a mixture of cervical and dorsal 
vertebrae and a few rib fragments. There are pictures on my website at:

The little "Beauty" is a nicely preserved, quite small specimen of 
_Clidastes propython_ from the upper Smoky Hill Chalk of western Kansas.
