There is an older movie called "Antarctica" that follows the lives of
some sled dogs left by a Japanese expedition for the next expedition to
use. The next expedition never arrived.

The story follows the dogs through an Antarctic winter. Some of the
dogs even survived! The photography is magnificent, the music is by
Vangelis, and the story is riveting. I would recommend it.

In times of war, you are obligated to pretend that your leader is a
Great Man, even if he is the village idiot. It has always been so.
