Nature Oz madstoiids

Summer issue of the Australia Museum's Nature Australia has the following
feature:

Scanlon, J & Lee, M (2001). The Serpent Dreamtime. Nature Australia Summer
2001-2002. pp 36-45.

It is a lavishly illustrated summary to Australia's fossil Madstoiidae
including the history of their discovery, their possible evolutionary
relationships to mosasaurs and the Cretaceous Israeli protosnakes plus the
origins of the Aboriginal Rainbow Serpent myths. Its nice to finally get a
layman's introduction to all the other Aussie madstoiid taxa besides
Wonambi naracoortensis!

Amongst the many pretty pictures are illustrations of Wonambi, Pachyrhachis
and a mosasaur by...some guy ;)
