I've read the book (finally a good italian book on dinosaurs!) and found no more info about Scipionyx's position than those previously available after the considerations made onlist.

Filippo Calzolari

Keep in mind that the book is not a professional work, where new data or conclusions are reported. It is a good popular report about italian dinosaurs, dinotracksites and few other vertebrates, nothing more.
AFAIK, Scipionyx has never been thoroughly revised, especially concerning phylogeny. The last paper on this dino baby I am aware of is that one in Science dealing about the intepretation of the ?liver remains etc. in the view of "hepatic piston" theory By Ruben et al.
Merry Christmas to everyone....
