Though it does not destabilize the use of this character as an autapomorphy
of *Poekilopleuron*,
such a process is also present (and was used as a synapomorphy of) in mononykid
theropods as well.
Both *Shuvuuia* and *Mononykus* preserve the feature, if I recall correctly.
