A New Mosasaur

Anne Schulp and company at the Natural History Museum of Maastricht
are announcing their new taxon of mosasaur at their museum website. It will
be formally described next spring, so I do not have a name, but it's been
nicknamed Ber. It's a large prognathodont that appears to fall in between P.
solvayi and P. overtoni. They've used some of my artwork at the site and have
also included Mark Hallett's famous Platecarpus painting. They've altered one
of my paintings somewhat and have animated some sharks that you can play
with. It's also offered as a screensaver. The movements remind me of a
Cretaceous South Park.
You have to download a Flash 5 plug-in in order to see the site.
