Re: Endearing or not?

I too thought the vocalizations were somewhat excessive, but that is to be expected and not very surprising. But I found the "camera is there" illusions totally unnecessary and distracting. In a real documentary, I don't mind the distraction of something splashing on the camera lens if it a great shot that would be missed otherwise.
But in a computer-animation documentary like this, it added absolutely no value in my opinion, and they could have spent their time on something more creative and educational (their primates in particular could have stood some more work). By the time the "Camera is There" theme had occurred three times, I was thoroughly annoyed. My reaction was: what were they thinking? Let's hope this is not a trend that will be repeated in future shows.

What are your opinions on the scenes in WWPB that showed things like the Indricothere attacking the camera, the camera getting muddy, cracked etc.? I personally found them pretty clever and gave the show more of a documentary feel.

Also what was your opinion on the amount of vocalising in WWPB? I found it annoying at times (most real animals are very quiet most of the time as you no doubt know) but not nearly as bad as it was in When Dinosaurs Roamed America. Sheesh those things didn't shut up for a second.
