but there, for starters, is the Mt. Tom trackway. Philidor probably knows
more, as he lives in the area. I would definitely check out Weishampel and
Young's book Dinosaurs of the East Coast. All of the major sites, both
museums and those in natural settings, are listed there.

Thanks Steve, and all who answered my query generosly offlist! I will be
making an overnite stay there,(still recovering from surgery, and don`t want
to drive for too long), and will briefly view what I can the following
morning. I realize that to view the whole collection without preparing
myself for what I will see is pointless. I have finally opened what books I
have purchased recently (by Lull and Hitchcock), and realize there is a lot
to absorb on the subject. I will most probably make an extensive stayover in
the warmer months to come.

PS, on scanning the web, I became aware of even earlier strata containing
what may be theropod footprints from the mid-Triassic. ...The "Deep River"
formation in South Carolina? Does anyone know if that area is accessable to
hiking and viewing?

"Let it rain,...let it pour. Let it rain,...a whole lot more..cause I got
them Deep River Blues".....(Doc Watson).
