Yeah.  It _was_ all a bit _Planet of the Apes_, wasn't it?  And what's
with giving the australopithecus names?  "Blue", "Hercules", "Babble"
and all.  And then making such a big deal about the fact(*) that they
didn't have language.

I don't know whether it's just familiarity kicking in, but I seem to
be finding these CGI extravaganzas less and less exciting.  My
experience has been:

        Jurassic Park: absolutely spleen-splinteringly *awesome*
        Walking With Dinosaurs: wondrous
        When Dinosaurs Roamed: excellent
        Exctinct: good
        Walking With Beasts: OK

Shame.

(*) I use the word "fact" here in the standard _Walking With Things_
sense of a fact assumed for narrative purposes, whether with
convincing evidence or less.
