Re: Mononykus
I realize that he used the skull for Shuvuuia, but its the proportions!
The
head is huge!
I've never seen a reconstruction like this before, does anyone know what's
up?
First of all, Greg Paul is only human too, and he may aswell have done a
mistake, and may have drawn the head too big.
But he's allso known for doing extensive research before he publishes a new
restoration. No skulls of Alvarezsaurids have been discovered besides
Shuvuuia, not even skull fragments as far as I know. I don't know the
propotions between the Shuvuuia skull and it's postcranial fragments, but
it's probably there he's based it from.
In other words, it's a Shuvuuia skull, with the Mononykus postcrania
propotioned after the Shuvuuia postcranial elements.
Thants at least my thoughts on it.
