Hello, everyone.
If we take the picture of a
_Carnotaurus sastrei_ stopped beside a dead prey, looking around if there is no
other creature that can steal his prize, under a torrid sun, maybe in a
savana-like scenary, we really may wonder that his horns would´ve been used to
block sunlight from hurting his eyes.
If, in other situation, we take
the picture of a _Carnotaurus sastrei_ stopped behind some bushes, almost
crouched, and under a big tree, just waiting for his prey to get near him, and
all the 'forest' around is made of small and medium size bushes, and tall trees,
maybe his horns have been used to protect his eyes from branches, while in
pursuit.
If we look at his horns and
think of them as mere sexual exhibit ornaments, it´s very probable, as
everything shows. And if we look at his horns, again as sexual ornaments, used
to confront others, I think that we´ll get a little problem, because we´ll have
to see if his upper skull´s surface could support to be pressioned over others,
and if his neck could support the same pression, like biomechanical studies may
show us. Then we could have a proved theory. All the other ones, I see as just
wonderings, unless someone have any idea of how they can be proved.
