Such evidence is AFAIK lacking -- of course, this is negative evidence...

Well, the north coast of Alaska was at about 85°N in the Late Cretaceous, so
the weather in winter may well have been similar*, plus nearly 6 months of
darkness. Indeed, classical reptiles (crocs...) are lacking there so far.

* I enjoy the same weather here in Austria... :-( Temperatures around 5 °C,
rain, snow, and enormous fluctuations -- after a warm winter and a week of
summer. Seems like the Gulf Stream has already stopped (by the greenhouse
effect) and the Even Younger Dryas Age has begun... :-/
