Can anybody recommend books, websites, or publications where I can

The first thing that popped into my head was an article by Erwin, Valentine, and Jablonski published in _American Scientist_ four years ago. It's still on the web:

http://www.AmericanScientist.org/articles/97articles/Erwin.html

In looking for it I also found they've made available the article that
Anusuya Chinsamy and Peter Dodson wrote on dinosaur bone histology.
Since the subject has come up here recently I figured I'd mention it
in case people might want some background reading:

http://www.AmericanScientist.org/articles/95articles/achinsamy.html

Make sure you read the whole article before criticizing any of it :-j

The site has at least a few other articles people here might like to
read. Poke around...

Thanks Micky,

A number of papers on Cambrian depositional systems, Ediacaran fauna, prospecting for Burgess Shale type faunas (just out in GSA today), soft bodied trilobites (Cheng Jiang Fauna (I may have spelled it wrong but I can pronounce it!)), healed bite marks, and papers on predatory behavior exhibited by Cambrian organisms and the like can be found by e-searching for Loren E. Babcock, too.

Cheers,
Marilyn W.
