Funny... I just remember Sam Glanzman (later an artist on the DC military
comics line) being the main artist of the Gold Key Turoks (and his dino
illustrations were fine).
Morris Gollub was the >cover< artist of the Dell Turoks begining (I
think) with issue no.7 (see: http://psychosaurus.com/turok/turok007.htm).
When Western Printing and Lithographing (Golden Books) bought out Turok,
different artists were used under their Gold Key label. Gollub also did
numerous Tarzan covers for Dell that had splendid action scenes with African
animals AND dinosaurs. It's really unfortunate that so many of these
marvelous artists slaved away in anonymity, especially Gollub, who apparently
had an excellent understanding of dinosaur anatomy for those times and
created, in my opinion, the greatest of all comic covers. I don't want to
stray too far off-topic here, but if you can prove me wrong let me know
off-list and I will gladly correct my statement. Dan Varner
