Logo Contest Winners for
IDM 2000 Fourth Annual International Dinosaur Month
October 1-31, 2000 are announced.

Andrew H. Lee and Russell J. Hawley tied for first place in the fourth
annual international logo contest for International Dinosaur Month.

The winning entries can be found online at <

Mr. Lee is from the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at Purdue
University
West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. Mr. Hawley is Education Director at the
Tate Geological Museum Casper, Wyoming, USA. Lee's entry shows a
Brachiosaurus and an Apatasaurus against the background of the earth,
while Hawley's is a fine rendering of a Protoceratops.

Tied for second place were Katy Hargrove of Los Angeles, CA and John
Robichaud, USA
Other winners include Sara Burch,  USA, Steve Stratakos, Austin, Texas,
USA
amd Jorge Antonio Gonzalez a 22 year old art student from Buenos Aires,
Argentina.

The logos may be used in connection with the international promotion of
this educational event provided that the event is credited.

The contest was open to anyone of any age from any country in the world.
Entries were judged on design, clarity and appropriateness to the event.

International Dinosaur Month takes place yearly between October 1-31.
The purpose of the event is to encourage individuals, schools and
families to visit the many fine dinosaur collections in museums all over
the world.

The event is sponsored by Dinosaurs International, a not-for-profit
organization. Chairman of the event is Edward Summer.

Online space for the event is donated by The Dinosaur Interplanetary
Gazette, an award-winning online dinosaur magazine.
