Supersaurus found in Wyoming
Our statewide paper The Casper Star Tribune has carried a
pair of articles on a recently discovered Supersaurus in
Wyoming. The paper has a web page but doesn't have these
articles there, so I'll summarize a bit.
The Supersaurus was found at a ranch in Converse County
(east central Wyoming, directly east of Casper, Wyoming).
The exact location is being kept secret.
Remains consist of ribs (with one measuring 10 ft in length),
vertebrae (one being four ft in length) and parts of the
pelvis.
Determination that this was a Supersaurus was made by
comparision with the BYU Supersaurus that was found in
Colorado.
Estimates of the living size of the beastie are 130 to
140 feet in length and 30 tons in weight.
The Tate Museum had an open house on the 14th for an
official unveiling.
