in -o (declination
continues: -onis, -oni, -onem, -one; -ones, -onum, -onibus, -ones, -onibus)
are female, with a few male exceptions like homo, ordo and sermo (speech).
None are neutral. -o is a neutral ending in Slav languages like Russian
(which I've had for 4 years in school), and AFAIK, many Greek neutral words
end in -on.
