This morning I was sorting out the postings I've
saved, the ones so useful that I want to locate them immediately rather than
hunt thru the archives. Among them was one from HP Holtz, dated August
23rd and titled Re ornithomimosauria. Following is the last paragraph of
this posting.
As you can see, the narrative included not only
relationships but also the key morphological determinants. I know that
people who can read diagrams learned little that could not be represented
symbolically, but for the verbally oriented this communicated a great deal
more.
HP Mortimer has been providing a service with his
listings of fossil material. If anyone can provide overviews similar
to HP Holtz's for other groups of dinosaurs, I don't think I'd be the only one
who would enjoy reading them. I have a folder awaiting.
Thank you!

maniraptorans (as one branch) and ornithomimosaurs (as a second branch) are two
groups of coelurosaur descended from a common ancestor. In terms of
its morphology, this common ancestor would probably have looked something like _Scipionyx_.> |
