The biggest problem, I think, with mounting original bones instead
of "corrected" casts and public perception of the same, is that for the
most part, the general public doesn't know or care about why the bones
are distorted. Tell them why, and they basically will shrug and say, "oh",
but they still want to see something closer to what the animal's skeleton
looked like shortly after death. That's kind of why people tend to oooh
and aaah when viewing the newer T.rex mount at CMNH; it's easier
for them to imagine the living animal.
