Begging the patience of the list.

So many well-reasoned responses to my hypotheses.  In the past, responding
to these piecemeal has resulted in an excessive volume washing the list,
followed by complaints.  I am going to crawl back in my burrow, and write
a _single_ response to _all_ the issues raised.

I am cognisant of the respectful tone--even from highly skeptical
individuals.  And I appreciate this.
