Inadvertently means carelessly; advertently attentively. So,
unintentionally/intentionally, yes, but a connotation of paying attention,
rather than having intention. The word choice depends on your conclusion
about how knowledgeable the writer might be, and thus what the intention
might be. I like blithely, myself.
