Extinction

Be that as it may, I suggest interested parties investigate
<www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/education/events/presentations.html> to see what
Richard Cowen (of U.C. Davis) has to say about extinctions. Click on
the blue lettered things to find out more, especially "The K-T
Extinction," a chapter from Cowen's book _History of Life_. Only after
you all do your homework and read this and all associated links will you
be permitted to continue this thread (except Larry, who uncovered the
above hard data).

Tiffney, Padian, and Lipps also provide supplementary information of
interest at the above address, though their topics, paleobotany, the
nature of science, teaching evolutionary science, and early life forms,
are not strictly related to extinction. But hey, it's free! Whaddya
want for nothin'?
