This is starting to get off topic, but under the definitions I learned, a 
meteoroid is a hunk of rock/metal/whatever out in space.  It becomes a meteor 
when it enters the atmosphere and starts to burn up, and if it actually hits 
the ground, it becomes a meteorite.
