Here are some highlights of U.S. national television
programming concerning dinosaurs, other prehistoric
animals, and the scientific discussion of evolution,
from high art to low trash and (theoretically) back
again, all times Eastern (check local listings to
confirm):

Monday, May 6

Discovery Channel, 9:00pm (rebroadcast midnight, and
6:00pm Saturday)

"Dinosaur Attack!"
Recreating a dinosaur battle -- or was it?

Discovery Channel, 10:00pm (rebroadcast 1:00am, and
1:00pm Saturday)
Dinosaurs: Inside and Out
"The Killer Elite"
Theropods.  Ever instructive, the electronic TV guide
informs me that some dinosaur predators weighed 40
tons or more!

American Movie Classics, 10:30pm (rebroadcast 2:00am)
Valley of Gwangi
Allosaur in the West.  Imagine the look on Cope's face

Discovery Channel, 11:00am
The Ultimate Guide
"Elephants"
The real king of beasts.  Apparently includes some
discussion of elephant evolution.

I'd never speak at a school that preached that
