The last issue of Earth was dated August 1998. It was a wonderful issue with 
topics ranging from evolution, dinosaurs and human origins to weather and 
geology.

I waited without success for the next issue which would have contained some 
special reports about dinosaurs (e.g. "The social Tyrannosaur"). So in early 
1999 I took a look at their internet site at www.earthmag.com. Their internet 
page stated that Earth Magazine was discontinued and remaining copies could 
be ordered. How sad.

Up to now I have found no other magazine comparable to this one. I think it's 
a real loss in this world of "easy" magazines.
