Something old, something new at OOK

All,
A quick note to announce a major update of an older webpage on the
Oceans of Kansas Paleontology website.  Technology changes quickly and
pages that are a year or more old have started looking pretty shabby.

The old page is one of my originals from 1997 about the discovery of the
shark scavenged remains of a _Platecarpus tympaniticus_ mosasaur:

It has been totally worked over and the original 3 field shots have been
replaced with 11 new and substantially larger pictures (w/thumbnails).

A brand new companion page shows pictures of the prepared specimen:

If you're interested in marine reptiles, or just old bones in general,
you might check it out. The photos were made with a Sony Mavica digital
camera (no endorsement intended, I borrowed the camera  :-) and most of
them turned out rather well.  There are about 20 photos on this page
(w/thumbnails) and one close-up of a shark bitten bone that is very
nice.  

This specimen is now on exhibit at the new Exploration Place in Wichita,
Kansas..... and is more than 6000 years old.... ;-) ... just a small
part of a terrific new science education center.
