New Publication
Hi All -
The following is available, hot off the press:
Lucas, S.G. (ed.) 2000. _New Mexico's Fossil Record 2_. Albuquerque: New
Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science Bulletin 16, 284 pp.
The volume is heavily concentrated on papers of two subjects: New
Mexico (mostly marine) biostratigraphy and stratigraphy and late Cenozoic
material. Although there are no dinosaur papers in it (a "Dinosaurs of New
Mexico" bulletin, and associated symposium in Late April -- I'll announce
details as I get them -- are forthcoming), there are two papers in it which
are
of a reptilian nature and might be of interest to some on this list:
Lucas, S.G. and Estep, J.W. 2000. Osteology of _Allognathosuchus mooki_
Simpson, a Paleocene crocodilian from the San Juan Basin, New Mexico, and
the
monophyly of _Allognathosuchus_, pp. 155-168 _in_ the above.
Sullivan, R.M. and Lucas, S.G. 2000. A Paleocene (Puercan) amphisbaenian
in a
regugitalite from the Nacimiento Formation, San Juan Basin, New Mexico, pp.
145-49 _in_ the above.
One paper touches on a Late Cretaceous flora, of interest to
paleoecologists
and artists looking for accurate reconstructions of the plants surrounding
the
dinosaurs of the time:
Lucas, S.G., Estep, J.W., Boucher, L.D., and Anderson, B.G. 2000.
Cretaceous
stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and depositional environments near Virden,
Hidalgo County, New Mexico, pp. 107-119 _in_ the above.
And, lastly, there's a paper of interest to anyone who goes out and concots
large field jackets:
Peterson, R.E., D'Andrea, N.V., and Heckert, A.B. 2000. The RONDAN jacket
support clamp and jacket transport sled, pp. 277-284 _in_ the above.
If anyone wants ordering information, contact me OFF LIST...I
should
have a price in a few days.
