Doin the Theropod Nod

OK. I don`t know much about details of theropod gait (whilst walking), but
didn`t they walk along like chickens? Or many other birds I`ve noticed that
do the "Walter Brennan" shuffle? (You know...that head bob thing?) Is that
for balance or what? Did they NOT do that because of the long tail?

I only ask, because I don`t think I`ve ever seen them do it.....er, in the
world of T V, Film animation (of course). (and I do mean the non-avian
Mesozoic kind). Any references about this??
